This article provides instructions on how to change the Champion Seal Kit, part number 7301111-0070AP for an American Standard Champion toilet.
Please note, these instructions are only applicable to the 2PC Champion Universal Flush Valve, part number 7381983-400.0070AP, which has a linked chain and green-topped flush valve with either a clear/frosted or red colored seal. If your current flush valve has a beaded chain and black thumbscrew, please refer to the article How do I replace the thumbscrew style flush valve seal for the Champion toilet?

Steps:
1. Turn off the water supply.
2. Remove the tank lid.
3. Drain the tank by either lifting the chain or flushing the toilet.
4. Unhook the chain clip from the trip lever rod.
5. Lift the flapper assembly, place one hand below the flapper and hold the guide rod, turn the flapper counterclockwise and remove the flapper.
6. Turn the lower locking ring counterclockwise and pull to remove lock and seal.
7. Place a new seal on the flapper body and align flapper lock to tabs on flapper body and then twist clockwise to lock the seal in place.

8. Now secure the flapper assembly to the flush valve guide rod by turning clockwise until seated.
9. Re-attach the chain hook to the lift rod.
10. Turn on the water supply and flush the tank.
