2. If the water level dropped to the bottom of the flush valve where it meets the bottom of the tank, then the flush valve needs to be replaced.

3. If the water level did not drop, then there is likely an issue with the fill valve. If the water continues to go over the top of the overflow tube on the flush valve, it can be due to debris that is stuck inside your fill valve causing it to run continuously.

4. A bent or broken trip lever can cause the flapper to remain open, causing water to run. Erratic flushing can occur if the trip lever wears out or is loose. You can replace the trip lever if the parts above don’t solve the issue.
